In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 when she was offered a position on the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65 foot halibut boat was turned into a tender for salmon by Murat Ariatn. He has been fishing commercially for more than twenty years. Bossard and Aritan are now married and are working together to stake their claim to their industry. Both are in the direction of preserving resources and maximising the profits. In 2007, she became a mother of two children Bella age 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia and opened an online direct wholesale distribution of seafood known as Otolith.
